Q: What is the first step I can do to get into the world of flying?

 

A: The first step is to schedule a $199 “Discovery Flight” this is a great way to see if aviation is for you and get a great introduction to the aircraft we fly and our flight instructors on staff.

 

Q: How long will it take to get a Pilot License?


A: All of the flight lessons are done at the student’s pace, so typically6 months to 12 months is the estimated completion time for a Private Pilot. (Depending on weather, and student’s commitment).

 

Q: Besides flying, what else will I need to do to obtain a license?

 

A: A medical and You will also need to pass the 60 question written exam called the FAA Aeronautical Knowledge Exam.

 

Q: How many instructors are there at Newport Aviation?

A: plenty, currently two full time and three part time, we always can accommodate new students!

 

Q: Once I get my license, where can I go with the airplane?

 

A: Newport’s unique location allows unrestricted access to the nearby islands including Block Island, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Montauk, and Fisher’s Island.

 

Q: How much will it cost to obtain my Pilot License?

 

A: Typically $10,000 to $23,000 is the cost for training to earn a Private Pilot license, but that cost can be reduced if the student is highly motivated to train in an efficient and structured manner. This includes doing the ground studying required on his or her own time.
